The younger generation does not hide their enthusiasm for the 80s. Meeting Swann, a young woman of 18 who never tires of the title of the era.
On his 18th birthday, Swann Momenceau has only one wish: to travel back in time. “I really like the rhythm and the lyrics [des chansons de l’époque]. “When I sing, I feel good,” assures the young girl. For them, the 80s were supposed to be antiquity, and yet it would be the decade of the best songs. In the imagination of Swann and his friends, it is even a dream time. Remember: the 80s saw the birth of the CD, the Minitel and video games, young people rode mopeds and listened to singers with chic hairstyles.
“It’s a party”
The fashion of the time has not completely disappeared. Nowadays, you can get your hands on fur-lined denim jackets or tracksuits that hurt your eyes. Nostalgia is an inexhaustible niche. One in three Radio Nostalgia listeners is under 30 years old. You are looking for the atmosphere of an era. Guillaume Aubert, radio presenter, believes: “Back then we had more freedom. We had the right to light a lighter at a concert. (…) So when we hear the ’80s, we say to ourselves: ‘That’s the ‘party’.”
