“I really wanted to be able to say what wasn’t shown on TV. When I was a kid, I thought being an artist meant having the power to shrink and fit on TV. Look at this child’s head. Nowadays I understand that.” To be an artist, it has to be much bigger than the size of the TV and movie screen. I’m speaking poetically here.”
The performance includes fictional characters such as Brabie, a combination of “Barbie” and “Braba” live music and mentions of Rio Grande do Sul, Valéria’s home state. The show was born in a dawn of insomnia. “There are also many life stories, many little lessons and subliminal messages.”
The premiere will take place a week after Valéria presented the show “Sururu da Val”, also in Rio de Janeiro. She sang hits from big names in MPB like Alcione and Chico Buarque and invited Valesca Popozuda on stage as a surprise. The funk singer watched the show in the audience and accepted the challenge after receiving a “little push” from Amaury Lorenzo and Ramiro of Terra e Paixão. Like him, other actors from the plot were also present at the presentation.
In December she hopes to release her next album “Saraval” a fusion of the word “saravá” and the artist’s name. “It’s a real mix of sounds, it contains three of my songs that I played as a composer myself… It was produced by André Moraes, who understands me from the first chord, together with Lucinho Mauro Filho. ‘Espumas ao Vento’, ‘Super Homem’ and ‘Geni eo Zepelim’ are the new recordings that are on my album.”
