David and Victoria Beckham have been busy building a brand new greenhouse in the grounds of their £12million Costwolds home.

The former footballer, 48, and the fashion designer, 49, received planning permission to build the greenhouse and a high-rise kitchen in their garden.

Construction on the outbuilding now appears to be complete, as the finished greenhouse was photographed on the property’s grounds on Friday.

The greenhouse featured modern, ceiling-to-floor all-glass walls and boasted Victorian-inspired lace finials at the top of the roof.

The Beckhams appeared to be already moving things into the greenhouse, as cardboard boxes could be seen stacked in the outbuilding.

It is the latest addition to the sprawling property, which also has a sauna, plunge pool, football pitch, gym, swimming pool and a £50,000 on-site safari tent for entertaining.

The Beckhams were granted planning permission for the greenhouse, but a separate application to create a new road to the property recently angered locals.

It was reported that David had asked permission to build a new 250m access road to their sprawling holiday home while the greenhouse was being built.

But a neighbor objected and filed a formal complaint, calling the Beckhams’ plans “pointless” and a “waste of resources.”

The complaint is said to have said: “Hello, I am against it because it involves unnecessary consumption of materials.”

“There is already an access road to the property. “So what’s the point of laying another road just to build a fancy greenhouse?” That seems pointless and a waste of resources.”

Another angry letter said: “I believe, as many in the area suspect, that the applicants want a longer driveway to their property, rather than just a short drive from the road they currently use to access their property to obtain. This may be because…” The public has access to the end of this alley as it is a public street.

“I have spoken to people who supply greenhouses in the UK and they have all said that this greenhouse could be built within a period of two to three months at the most.”

“Why are the applicants requesting a temporary access structure for two years on a public footpath?”

“I am always amazed that those who come to the country and then want to move to the suburbs are not satisfied with living in a natural rural environment.”

Elsewhere, David and Victoria won a controversial contract last month to convert a barn in the garden of their huge property into offices.

The couple sought permission to set up three separate office spaces in the building, as well as a bathroom, in the grounds of their Oxfordshire country home.

They also called for new skylights to be installed and access to the work areas to be via an external wooden staircase.

After winning the contract, they now have three years to begin development. David currently stores his gardening tools in the barn.

“I’m usually in my country outfit, which I’m not wearing now.” I have a cane, I’m walking around, sitting out here with a cup of coffee.

“My favorite view of the house.” “I can also see Victoria when she’s naked in the upstairs window.”
