The murder of Daphnée Jolivet, a 19-year-old young woman killed in Quebec for allegedly helping a victim of sexual assault, shocked those close to her and is still incomprehensible.

The woman found lifeless in Limoilou may therefore have been the victim of reprisals, according to various sources familiar with the matter who wished to remain anonymous.
In an interview on the program “Dossiers du cours”, two of Daphnée’s good friends paid tribute to her and recalled her good personality.
Daphnée Ouellet, a special education student, didn’t hang out with bad people, according to her friends.
Gabrielle Guay and Jana Adamovic claim that they were not aware of the sexual assault file.
“Right now women are being told not to report their attacker and that is not the message that should be sent right now,” Gabrielle says.

Jana was at work when she learned that her friend had been murdered, while Gabrielle learned of the tragedy through a friend.
“It was like a shock. I thought I was still in my nightmare, that I had never woken up. Even today I have the impression that it is a long nightmare that never ends,” Gabrielle continues.
The murder creates a significant sense of insecurity in Limoilou district.
