It was learned that Avilés made such statements while attending the 10th Beijing 2023 Xiangshan Forum, held this week in the Asian country under the theme “Common Security and Durable Peace.”
At the meeting, the top military chief of this Central American country stated that no one has the right to start wars and prolong them to make profits at the expense of the lives of those who defend the sovereign right to live in peace and security, despite threats and pressure to determine their own fate.
He added that hegemonic powers around the world, influenced by economic elites, drive, promote and finance destabilization and crisis scenarios.
In this sense, he argued that with such actions, these powers seek to create conditions that favor their unipolar positioning strategies and continue the dominance of the global scenario.
“Powers that in their analyzes consider China, Russia, the People’s Republic of Korea and Iran as the main threats to their hegemonic interests,” he emphasized.
In this context, Avilés explained that the inclusion in their lists until 2024 of countries that want to be part of the new bloc of states that favor a multipolar world, such as the new members of the Brics group, is not excluded.
“We do not rule out that in the short and medium term other regions of the world may be threatened by the strengthening of security and defense relations with the United States,” he said.
According to the Nicaraguan representative, such actions create instability in different regions of the planet and proclaim the goal of these alliances to counter China’s influence.
Referring to Latin American and Caribbean countries, he expressed that they are not exempt from this foreign policy, which has an interest in regaining lost spaces and maintaining their hegemony in the Western Hemisphere by trying to exploit natural resources conquer.
He reaffirmed Nicaragua’s position to defend sovereignty, independence and self-determination against any foreign interference aimed at circumventing its national interests.
“For this reason, according to their ideas, we are stigmatized internationally as an unusual and extraordinary threat to their interests,” he recalled.
According to Avilés, this category was introduced unilaterally and without justification, since it was intended to promote the conditions of national, regional, hemispheric and global security, starting from respect for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of States.
“With this harmful strategy, they claim the right to promote destabilization processes, finance and develop disinformation campaigns, with false accusations of alleged human rights violations,” he explained.
