Duel between the Reds and the Gold Carabins One sided victory

The carbines humiliate the Vert & Or

The University of Montreal Carabins soundly defeated the University of Sherbrooke’s Vert & Or 54-3 in the Quebec Student Sports Network (RSEQ) semi-finals at CEPSUM on Saturday.

Carabins star quarterback Jonathan Sénécal had a great game. The latter scored the first touchdown of the game with a 56-yard run. He also added three touchdown passes to his record and finished his afternoon of work with 12 successful passes out of 18 attempts through the air, for a total of 225 yards.

He was then replaced by Rakim Canal-Charles, who completed five pass attempts.

Brandon Gourgon also got his hands dirty and reached the pay zone twice. Glodi Halafu and Simon Riopel also scored a touchdown each.

The Vert & Or simply didn’t exist in the game, racking up 26 yards on the ground and 152 yards through the air. Like his team, quarterback Anthony Robichaud connected with his teammates just ten times, gaining 71 yards passing.

The Carabins will face Laval University’s Rouge & Or in the RSEQ final on November 11th. As a reminder, the latter team qualified through pain and misery against the Concordia University Stingers, winning 34-27 in the second overtime.
