Matthew Perry on his final line in “Friends”

Matthew Perry, who passed away last weekend, recently spoke about how much it meant to him to have the very last line in Friends.
Before Perry filmed the final episode, he took Marta Kuffman aside and asked her for a very special favor. “No one will care but me,” he told the show’s producer. “May I have the last line please?”
Perry’s wish was granted, as in the final episode of the series, the group of friends gather at Monica (Courteney Cox) and Chandler’s (Matthew Perry) apartment as they prepare to move out and start their lives with their newly adopted children begin. As they prepare to close the door for the very last time, Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) suggests they have a cup of coffee together.
“I have to bring the curtain down on ‘Friends,'” Perry said in a recent interview, referring to his perfect timing for the show’s final line – “Where?”
For those who have never seen the show, the group of friends always go for coffee at a local store called Central Perk. When Chandler asked, “Where?”, it was the perfect ending to the long-running series.

As we reported over the weekend, police responded to a 911 call to assist with a possible “water rescue” at Matthew Perry’s home in Pacific Palisades. When first responders arrived, they reportedly found the 54-year-old “Friends” actor unresponsive in his hot tub.
He is believed to have drowned, but an autopsy and toxicology reports will be able to answer further questions about his true cause of death. Prescription antidepressants and anti-anxiety medications were reportedly found in Matthew Perry’s home following his tragic death, but sources say no illegal narcotics were discovered at the scene.

“We are all deeply devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,” her statement said. “There is so much to say, but for now we will take a moment to grieve and process this incredible loss.”
The cast continued by saying, “As time goes on, we will say more as we are able. At this time, our thoughts and love are with Matty’s family, his friends and everyone who loved him around the world.”
None of the cast members have released a follow-up statement yet.
