Armie Hammer joked about overcoming “landmines” in recent years despite being accused of both cannibalism and sexual assault in a new video he posted to his Instagram Stories on Saturday.
The 37-year-old “Call Me By Your Name” actor, who returned to the social media platform three days earlier, was seen working with a landmine press in what appeared to be a large, unfinished basement.
In a text added at the end of the clip, Hammer wrote to his 1.1 million followers: “I’ve seen a lot of landmines over the last few years… finally found one that works for me #landminepress.”
The star wore a short-sleeved white T-shirt and gray shorts during the gym session and was surrounded by other gym equipment.
In the next slide of his Stories, Armie brushed aside the joke to express his gratitude for the “support” he’s received since returning to Instagram.
‘Landmines’: Armie Hammer, 37, joked about overcoming “landmines” in recent years in a new video he posted to his Instagram Stories on Saturday, despite being accused of both cannibalism and sexual assault
The Man From UNCLE star wrote to his fans: “All joking aside, thank you everyone for the love and support.”
His latest posts come three days after the actor returned to Instagram following a tumultuous few years in which he was shunned from Hollywood following the emergence of sexual assault allegations.
Armie reappeared on the app with a bizarre video with no explanatory caption. He appeared to be sitting on a train with a laptop on his lap while the computer played an excerpt from the 1968 mystery film “The Swimmer.”
The comments section was flooded with welcome posts from fans happy to see the actor back on their Instagram feeds.
The post came after the Los Angeles District Attorney announced that no charges would be filed against the actor over allegations of sexual assault. It also comes after the end of his marriage to Elizabeth Chambers.
The social network star has been under investigation for sexual assault since February 2021 after his ex-girlfriend Effie Angelova, 26, accused him of “violently” raping and abusing her in 2017.
In May, the Los Angeles District Attorney announced that the actor would not be charged with sexual assault allegations after Effie accused him of rape.
Armie posted a statement on his Instagram account after a spokesman for LA District Attorney George Gascon announced that no charges would be filed against him due to “insufficient evidence.”

“I am very grateful to the District Attorney for conducting a thorough investigation and concluding that I was watching all along and that no crime was committed,” Hammer wrote.
“I’m excited to begin the long and difficult process of putting my life back together now that my name is cleared.” The post no longer appears on his Instagram.
Tiffiny Blacknell, director of the prosecutor’s office of communications, said in a statement that they were unable to prove Angelova’s claims.
“Sexual assault cases are often difficult to prove, which is why we assign our most experienced prosecutors to review them.”
“In this case, these prosecutors conducted an extremely thorough review but concluded that there was insufficient evidence to charge Mr. Hammer with a crime at this time,” she said.
“As prosecutors, we have an ethical responsibility to only prosecute cases that we can prove beyond a reasonable doubt.” “We know that it is difficult for women to report sexual assault,” Blacknell added.
She said the county will continue to support alleged victims with services.
Through his lawyer, he has denied the allegations of rape, saying all of his sexual encounters were “completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance and mutually consensual.”

Several other women came forward and accused Hammer of being interested in kinky sex and even cannibalism following Angelova’s claims.
The social network actor was banned from his personal publicist and his former agency, as well as from several projects due to the allegations.
“I’m not responding to these asinine claims, but given the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children behind for four months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic,” he said in one Statement to the Chron.
The actor subsequently claimed he tried to commit suicide in the Cayman Islands following the backlash.
The actor has admitted to being emotionally abusive to his former partners, but blamed his behavior on trauma from a youth pastor who allegedly sexually abused him when he was 13.
The scandal began when the Instagram account House of Effie began sharing disturbing messages that it allegedly sent between 2016 and February 2020, which included numerous sexual references to cannibalistic acts and bloodsucking, as well as discussions of BDSM.
In one message, the actor allegedly wrote to the woman: “I am 100% a cannibal.” I want to eat you. Crap. “It’s scary to admit this,” the message continued. “I’ve never admitted that before.”
Hammer’s former partners Paige Lorenze and Courtney Vucekovich also accused him of being physically and emotionally abusive while they were together.
Lorenze told Page Six that the actor carved the letter “A” into her pelvis to brand her and then sucked out the blood that came out.

In March 2021, Angelova officially came forward and claimed: “On April 24, 2017, in Los Angeles, Armie Hammer violently raped me for over four hours, repeatedly banging my head against the wall, injuring my face.” He has others too Acts of violence were committed against me that I did not consent to.’
Angelova said she thought Hammer was “going to kill” her and claimed he hit her feet “so they hurt” during the alleged attack, according to Variety.
The 26-year-old said she met Hammer on Facebook when she was 20 before falling in love with the actor. But she has since said she has fallen victim to “manipulation tactics.”
Shortly thereafter, the LAPD confirmed that it was investigating the actor after a “community member” filed a sexual assault complaint with an attorney on February 3, 2021. Hammer has always denied the allegations made against him.
