Drug trafficking threatens security, Nicaragua is denounced in China

According to the information, Avilés spoke at the tenth Beijing 2023 Xiangshan Forum held this week in the Asian giant, where he expressed that the above is a consequence of more than 358,000 hectares of illegal cultivation in South American countries.

According to the senior military leader, such plants generate drug production estimated at more than three thousand tons, whose main target is the north of the continent.

He noted that the presence of drug cartels in the South and North America with great economic and technological capabilities as well as thousands of members of maras (gangs) is causing harm in the countries where they are established, demonstrating high levels of insecurity and crime . .

In this sense, he highlighted the implementation of the state retaining wall plan in Nicaragua, an initiative developed by the police and army for several years to combat drug trafficking and organized crime.

He explained that this strategy directs the Armed Forces’ key operational intelligence efforts, in coordination with other institutions, to contain, divert and capture the greatest possible quantity of drugs and prevent their entry and distribution through Nicaraguan territory.

“With our capabilities, we have managed to effectively counter the activities of organized crime and maintain strict control over our land and sea borders, our airspace, our ports and airports, thereby ensuring calm, stability and peace,” he emphasized.

He also stressed that Nicaragua is internationally recognized as the safest country in the Central American region and one of the safest in the Americas.

On the other hand, Avilés referred to the large flows of irregular migrants from different parts of the world who violate the border security of transit countries and have the USA as their final destination.

“The figures for the current year are estimated at over 400,000 people, which increases the possibilities of their use by terrorist organizations and organized crime to mobilize members of their structures,” he emphasized.

He urged joint efforts to achieve common goals in which developed and developing countries grow together, on the premise of finding mechanisms and solutions to adopt effective policies and achieve common development.

In addition, he advocated the need to reach a consensus in building a fairer world that respects fundamental conditions such as respect for the sovereignty, self-determination and the right to sustainable development of all peoples.
