No. 8 Alabama continues to find different ways to win this season. On Saturday night, it defeated No. 14 LSU 42-28 in an offensive shootout. With the win, the Crimson Tide are in control of the SEC West and have a path to the conference title game.
In the night’s other big game, No. 5 Washington edged No. 20 USC 52-42 in a wild offensive display at the LA Coliseum. The win keeps Washington undefeated and staying alive in the College Football Playoff and Pac-12 title race.
But the drama began long before that, when Clemson held on to a 31-23 win over No. 15 Notre Dame despite several late fumbles by the Tigers. No. 10 Ole Miss followed with a last-second blocked field goal to survive a scare against Texas A&M, and Texas needed a fourth stop in overtime to beat Kansas State.
No. 22 Oklahoma State kept the drama alive later in the afternoon, delivering a 27-24 upset victory over No. 9 Oklahoma in what will be the final Bedlam Rivalry game for the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, Georgia held its own against a feisty Missouri team in a crucial SEC East clash.
