The Detroit Red Wings came late for much of the game and won 5-4 against the Boston Bruins on Saturday night at Little Caesar Arena.
The Michigan club (7-4-1) was upset in the third period. Dylan Larkin, who beat Linus Ullmark with a wrist shot in the top right, tied the score at 3-3 early in the final period. Derek Lalonde’s men then scored two goals in 2 minutes and 30 seconds, David Perron and Andrew Copp then putting their team in the lead.

Despite a final breakthrough by the Bruins (9-1-1), the Red Wings held on with 5:49 to play. This is Boston’s first regular-season loss since the start of the regular schedule.
For the Bruins, James Van Riemsdyk, Matthew Poitras, Charlie Coyle and David Pastrnak gave the red light.
