Israel grants civilians “window to leave the southern Gaza Strip

The country authorizes the opening of one of the main roads that cross the region for a few hours

Avichay Adraee, spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces, said that this Sunday (November 5, 2023), the country has a corridor through which people in the north of the Gaza Strip can move to the south of the region. According to him, Salah alDin Street, one of the main roads crossing the Gaza Strip, will be open until 2 p.m. local time (9 a.m. in Brasília).

“If you care about yourself and your loved ones, head south according to our instructions. Rest assured that Hamas leaders are already taking care to protect themselves,” Adraee said in her profile X.

On November 5 (November 2), the Israeli Armed Forces declared that they had completed the siege of the Gaza Strip. The army said it would “step up” the ground offensive in Palestinian territory.

In a statement to reporters, Israeli Army Chief of Staff Lt. Col. Herzi Halevi said the troops had taken “another significant step.” [na guerra] and the armed forces are now the focus of a ground operation in northern Gaza.”
