“It’s very difficult for me to see children and babies dying every day,” the seventh-ranked player in the world said emotionally in the post-match interview, shortly after defeating the Wimbledon 6s champion -4, 6-3.
“This breaks my heart. I have decided to donate part of the scholarships I will receive [à Cancun] to help that [enfants] Palestinians,” she added.

The 29-year-old player said she wanted “peace in the world” and wanted to send a message that was not “political but human” and also said that she could not be “satisfied with her victory” due to the armed conflict .
