A young girl was brutally attacked at a McDonald’s in the Harbor City neighborhood of Los Angeles. (KTTV)
The mother of the 13-year-old girl who was attacked by a woman in a Southern California McDonald’s is suing the fast food giant and the alleged adult attacker.
According to FOX 11, the lawsuit is against McDonald’s and Ariana Lauifi over an incident that occurred at the Harbor City restaurant in September.
“It breaks my heart that my innocent daughter was beaten,” said Kassidy Jones’ mother, Angelina Gray. “McDonald’s employees and managers did nothing to intervene. They all stood there and watched.”
Kassidy Jones previously said that she and her classmates stopped by the fast food restaurant on the way home from school on September 6th. The 13-year-old said that’s where an unknown woman cornered her and started attacking her.

“What the hell are you all looking at? I fight against children. I’ll fight you,” Kassidy remembered the woman saying to her.
Videos of the fight circulated on social media, showing Kassidy being dragged to the ground, punched and pulled by her hair.
The crowd can be heard screaming and seen recording the incident on their cell phones. The only person seen coming to Kassidy’s aid was a man who was reportedly with the suspect.
Kassidy’s mother called the police and quickly took her daughter to the hospital. A photo after the incident showed her with swelling and bruising.

Kassidy said she did not know the suspect, who was later identified as 31-year-old Lauifi. According to FOX 11, Lauifi was arrested on September 28 on suspicion of child abuse.
“We were horrified to learn of this violent attack and our thoughts are with Kassidy and her family. “Employees called police when the fight began, and we worked closely with local law enforcement to assist with the investigation,” Tawnie Blade, owner/operator of the McDonald’s location, said in a statement to Fox shortly after the attack News Digital.

The family’s attorney, however, told FOX 11 that not enough has been done.
“McDonald’s is committed to providing customers with a clean and safe place to eat. Kassidy’s injuries could have been prevented and she should have been given some form of help after the attack. This situation should never have happened,” said Toni Jaramilla.
