By dancing around blindfolded during his face-to-face meeting on Sunday revolutionSean Wathen decided to take every risk possible to prove he had the talent and creativity to make it to the finals.
The common thread of his actions was willingness to take risks. “I told myself that the masters didn’t expect someone as broken as me to take such a big risk. Normally B-Boys don’t push the artistic side that much. I went the opposite way and decided to do something we had never seen before, surprising everyone. It’s technically very difficult when blindfolded.” He also admitted that at one point during his performance he became completely disoriented in space, but he coped well with the situation.
At this stage of the show he was also struggling with a groin injury which prevented him from being able to move as far as he would have liked. But nothing appeared either.

For this season, Sean decided to put himself in harm’s way and push his limits at every stage. “I think it’s the right thing to do. I also decided not to ask for outside opinions since I don’t work with other choreographers. The most important thing is to create a concept, add risks and embrace it.”
Despite his great performance and daring, the masters voted for Sébastien, but Lydia quickly pressed her button to save him. “From what I saw, Sébastien was much better prepared, he had a better command of his concept. I had expectations of myself, I saw great potential in myself, but I understood her decision.

Accuracy of work is the most important lesson Sean will take away from this phase. “I wasn’t as prepared as Sébastien, and yet I think I’m a disciplined person. Lydia’s rescue still gives me a lot of confidence. I have no right not to make an effort for the future. I don’t want to disappoint myself or Lydia, who saw my potential. Now I want to make her proud for saving me.
