This is his best performance since the Australian Grand Prix, where the Montrealer finished fourth. His teammate Fernando Alonso from the Aston Martin team finished his race in third place.

Despite his good performance, the pilot still shared some regrets.
“None of my starts were great – I had a lot of wheel spin and very little traction, so I didn’t start well,” he said after the race in comments shared on the Aston Martin team’s website. After that we had a high pace – faster than Ferrari, faster than Mercedes – and it felt like we were back to where we were at the beginning of the year.”
According to his own statement, these results also give a lot of hope with regard to the last two Grands Prix of the season, on November 19th in Las Vegas and on November 26th in Abu Dhabi.
“Today’s result gives us confidence that we can fight for points in the last two races,” he continued.
“Finally, big compliments to the entire team. The last few races have been difficult but today is a real reward and sends us home with a smile on our faces after three weeks on the road.”
Stroll is in 10th place in the drivers’ standings with 63 points.
