Early in the week, rush hour will be difficult in western and northern Quebec due to snow showers that will affect several sectors and cause the mercury to drop.
Environment Canada has also issued a special weather forecast for areas from Abitibi to the North Coast where up to 15 centimeters of snow could fall.
“A low pressure system approaching from Ontario will produce moderate to heavy snowfall in northwestern Quebec regions on Monday and Tuesday,” the federal agency said.
In the south of the province the weather will be mostly sunny, but we expect possible precipitation in the form of rain after clouds in the afternoon.
Sunshine expected in the morning in central and eastern Quebec should give way to cloudiness very quickly with colder temperatures, especially in Quebec.
On Tuesday, the weather will turn grayer with precipitation across the province, but will see rising temperatures that could reach 13 degrees in Montreal.
While rain is expected across most of Quebec, some areas such as Saguenay and eastern Quebec will see a mix of rain and snow.
After the gray weather, the sun will return across Quebec on Wednesday, but the mildness will not be there as the mercury will drop again, according to the federal agency.
