"1989 (Taylor’s version)" Taylor Swift’s 13th No. 1 Album

(CNN) – Taylor Swift continues to break records in what has been a dizzying year for the artist.

On Sunday, Billboard reported that Swift’s “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” the hit 2014 album that she re-recorded and released last month, reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart in the first week of its release .

The milestone marks the “Blank Space” singer’s 13th No. 1 album (yes, finally No. 13, Taylor).”

The debut of “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” marked the largest first-week album sales of any album since Adele released her album “25” in 2015 and is the best-selling album of the year so far, according to Billboard.

Swift’s 2022 album “Midnights” and July’s release of “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” round out the top three best-selling albums in 2023.

Swift has also made a name for herself on music streaming services, becoming the most streamed female artist in a single day in Spotify’s history with the release of “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” on October 27th.

The 2014 album is arguably one of Swift’s most popular and is considered her first album to fall directly into the pop genre, having previously released several country-pop albums.

After announcing in 2019 that he planned to re-record his first six albums, he released the Taylor’s Version albums Red, Speak Now, Fearless and 1989.

At some point, she’s expected to release re-recordings of the 2017 album Reputation and her 2006 debut Taylor Swift.
