(CNN) – Hey Siri… Which legendary singer and actress is releasing a long-awaited autobiography this week?
The answer, of course, is Barbra Streisand. And now Apple’s digital voice assistant pronounces the superstar’s last name exactly the way she likes it.
In an interview about her upcoming memoir My Name is Barbra, the two-time Oscar winner told the BBC that she was tired of Siri mispronouncing her name.
“My name isn’t spelled with a ‘Z,'” he argued. “It’s strife sand, like sand on the beach. How simple can you be?”
In a move most of us could only dream of, the 81-year-old actress called Apple CEO Tim Cook to complain, she told the British magazine in an interview published Monday.
“And Tim Cook was so charming. “He made Siri change the pronunciation… I think that’s one of the perks of fame!” she said, according to the BBC.
CNN has reached out to Apple for comment.
Streisand’s autobiography, which goes on sale Tuesday, became a bestseller when it went on sale earlier this year.
The memoir spans the EGOT winner’s 60 years in show business and beyond, starting with her struggles and early life in Brooklyn through her “first star turns in New York nightclubs,” which the EGOT winner says marked the beginning of his “string of success.” represented publisher Penguin Random House.
“The book, like Barbra herself, is open-hearted, funny, opinionated and charming,” says the publisher’s website.
