In an interview with People at the 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in New York on Friday (November 3, 2023), the guitarist revealed that the 74-year-old singer is in “great shape” as he recovers from ulcer recovered from a gastrointestinal disease.

“We will come back stronger than ever in March,” he assured fans. It was a very, very intense first six months on tour, perhaps the most intense we’ve ever experienced. So we will come back with the same intensity and it will be great.”

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band announced in September that they had been forced to postpone their remaining 2023 tour dates due to the star’s poor health. The tour will continue in March 2024.

“Being missing for seven years, we didn’t really know what was going to happen. It could have been: “E Street who?” he explained. But we came back stronger than ever in business and enthusiasm.”

Steven Van Zandt added: “Everything sold out straight away. So it was a wonderful surprise and I think just a tribute to the music.”

The US-born singer shared the news on his SiriusXM radio show ‘From My Home To Yours’ last month. “Let me take a moment and thank my fans affected by our postponed concerts for their understanding,” he said. I am deeply sorry, but this thing in my stomach, despite my ability to laugh about it, is a monster and unfortunately continues to rock my inner world.
