Former mixed martial arts fighter Javier Baez managed to overpower a man who attacked him with a very long knife.
The scene, captured by a surveillance camera, occurred on October 31 in Miami.

Baez was sitting in his car and saw a man banging on his window with a bladed weapon. The attacker, one Omar Marrero, walked away and the 34-year-old pugilist got out of his vehicle.
However, the attacker returned to the attack and attempted to stab the man, who had particularly evolved in the Xtreme Fighting Nation. Baez’s reflexes then saved his life as he was able to incapacitate Marrero by knocking him to the ground, causing him to lose his weapon.
“It’s second nature. “When you fight every day, you don’t think about it,” Baez said in an interview with CBS. I threw him to the ground, put my knee on his back and called the police.”
“I stayed calm and focused. I didn’t beat him up. I just mastered it.”
