You pig go to your country Im Portuguese by race

“You pig, go to your country. “I’m Portuguese by race, says a woman to the Brazilian

Lisbon — A video circulating on social media shows a Portuguese woman verbally attacking a Brazilian woman. She calls the victim a “pig” and tells her to return to her homeland because she shouldn’t be in Portugal. The attacker still defines herself as “Portuguese by race”.

The 35yearold Brazilian has Italian citizenship and has lived in Europe for seven years. The attack occurred on Monday morning (November 6th) at Porto Airport. It all started when the suitcase of the woman accompanying the attacker fell on the foot of the Brazilian woman, who said she was injured. From then on the Portuguese woman started insulting her.

The Brazilian woman tells the Portuguese woman that she would publish the video of the attacks, and the woman replies that she is not afraid. He hits himself in the face and says: “Show this face.” When he tries to attack the Brazilian, the attacker is held down by another woman who is accompanying her.

The massive presence of Brazilians in Portugal has made some Portuguese uncomfortable, who feel threatened and do not hide their xenophobia. The latest data shows that the regular Brazilian community numbers more than 400,000 people. Another 150,000 are waiting for documentation.

In addition to filling vacancies in the labor market that the Portuguese were unwilling to take, Brazilians were also instrumental in changing Portugal’s demographic curve. By 2018, the country’s population was declining. From the following year, the curve reversed and the population grew again as Brazilians flocked more heavily to Portuguese territory.
