A man who tried to break into the royal stables at Buckingham Palace was fined nearly 1,500 pounds sterling (about 2,500 Canadian dollars) by a London court on Monday.

Awad Mustafa, 25, was arrested by officers outside the royal stables on September 16 after police were alerted to someone climbing the wall.
He was subsequently charged with trespassing on a restricted area and attempted theft of a vehicle belonging to the stables in question.
At an earlier hearing he pleaded guilty to trespassing.
“At no time did the man enter Buckingham Palace or the palace gardens,” police said.
Despite the increased security measures around the site, attempted break-ins into Buckingham Palace, the royal residence in the heart of London, are no exception.
