The San Jose Sharks suffered one bad result after another and the staff’s patience began to wear thin. If things don’t improve quickly, general manager Mike Grier warned that changes could happen.
Reading between the lines, we understand that veterans who no longer produce could jump ship, or that head coach David Quinn could jump ship.

The Californian team has not won any of its first eleven duels this season and has conceded just ten goals in its last two games. The Sharks only scored 12 goals, one less than Auston Matthews (Toronto Maple Leafs) alone…
“If I don’t see what I want to see, we will explore all options,” Grier told the media on Monday, his comments reported by Mercury News. This can’t last. Amateurs deserve better. The owner was cooperative and supportive of me and my team.”
“When you move forward and things don’t get better, we have to question everything. At the moment I believe the players still believe in it and everyone can do better. “The players, the coaches and I, we can all do a little more and get better,” added the man who took over as GM in July 2022.
Among the players, Mike Hoffman still hasn’t reached the goal in ten games, Mikael Granlund has no points on his record and Marc-Édouard Vlasic has been left out on several occasions. Apart from Tomas Hertl (seven points in 11 games), nothing seems to be going well. Seven players already have a differential of -11 or worse.
So Grier could turn to the trade market, but every decision he makes will be carefully planned.
“Maybe we’ll watch. On the other hand, we will definitely not jeopardize or delay the development of our young players or try to trade draft picks to save the season,” he said.
The Sharks will look to get their first win on Tuesday night when they receive a visit from the Philadelphia Flyers.
