The New York Jets barely impressed in the first quarter, allowing the Los Angeles Chargers to terrorize quarterback Zach Wilson and win 27-6 at MetLife Stadium on Monday night.
After an initial offensive sequence that brought nothing, the local heroes had to clear the ball. However, punt returner Derius Davis broke through the defense and returned it to the end zone for his first career touchdown.

Wilson had three fumbles and eight sacks in that game, but none were as costly as his first steal. The Jets quarterback was tackled by Joey Bosa and managed to steal the ball away from him. Fifty yards separated the Chargers from the pay zone and they didn’t miss the chance to score the touchdown.
Despite everything, it wasn’t an easy game for Justin Herbert. The $262.5 million man relied on running back Austin Ekeler, who scored two majors by running but also made some good passes.
Keenan Allen made a pretty good catch early in the fourth quarter, catching a ball with one hand before making a nice throw. With this spectacular play, he became the 54th player in NFL history to surpass 10,000 career passing yards.
The Chargers and Jets now have identical 4-4 records. They will play again on Sunday against the Detroit Lions and the Las Vegas Raiders.
