Jack Reacher’s past catches up with him in the Reacher Season 2 trailer – and a lot of things explode.

Along with the trailer, Amazon’s Prime Video has set a premiere date for the second season of the series on December 15th. Unlike the first, which launched all at once, Reacher’s second season will roll out more gradually, with three episodes premiering on December 15 and the rest of the eight-episode season releasing weekly.

Reacher was one of the biggest Prime Video shows of 2022, scoring the streamer’s best opening week ever in Nielsen’s streaming rankings and securing a quick renewal.

The second season is based on Bad Luck and Trouble, the 11th book in author Lee Child’s 28-novel series featuring the character. Reacher (Alan Ritchson) receives a coded message revealing that members of his former U.S. Army unit, the 110th MP Special Investigations, are being murdered one by one. Removed from his life as a drifter, Reacher reunites with three of his former teammates (played by Maria Sten, Serinda Swan and Shaun Sipos) as they begin to understand the connections in a mystery where the stakes become ever higher and the question… Whoever comes up has betrayed them.

Ferdinand Kingsley, Robert Patrick and Domenick Lombardozzi also star in the second season. The trailer (see below) shows off plenty of Reacher’s (and Ritchson’s) imposing physicality and the action that is a hallmark of both the books and the TV series.

Amazon Studios, Skydance Television and Paramount Television Studios are producing Reacher. Showrunner Nick Santora is executive producing with Child, Don Granger, Scott Sullivan and Adam Higgs, as well as Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell.
