SIX DEAD IN STRIKE IN DONETSK
Six people were killed in a strike in Donetsk, a Russian-controlled city in eastern Ukraine, the head of the Russian local administration, Alexei Kulemzin, said on Tuesday.

RUSSIAN SHIP DESTROYED IN CRIMEA

F-16 SENT TO ROMANIA
The Netherlands has sent the first five F-16 fighter jets to Romania, where they will be used to train Ukrainian pilots, the Dutch Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
With support from the United States, Denmark and the Netherlands in August formalized their commitment to deliver up to 61 aircraft once Ukrainian pilots are trained. The Dutch executive said the planes would initially be used for a “refresher course” for employed instructors. Next comes pilot training. The aircraft will “only fly in NATO airspace,” he emphasized.

NEW RUSSIAN ATTACK ON AVDIIVKA ANNOUNCED
Ukraine has said it expects a third Russian attack on Avdiivka within weeks, after Moscow launched a major offensive in mid-October to capture this industrial city in eastern Ukraine, which had eluded it since 2014.
“There will certainly be a third wave. The enemy regroups after the second unsuccessful wave of attacks. He is in the process of rebuilding his reserves of both equipment and personnel,” assured Avdiivka Mayor Vitaly Barabach. “It is very likely that they are ready for the third wave, but weather conditions do not allow them to use the equipment,” he told Ukrainian television.

17 UKRAINIAN DRONES COMPLETED
The Russian military claimed to have shot down 17 Ukrainian drones over the Black Sea and Crimean Peninsula. “Air defense destroyed nine drones and intercepted eight others,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement, ensuring it had repelled an attempted “terrorist attack.”

POSTPONED ELECTIONS
Asked about the postponement of the elections in Ukraine, the head of the international department of the Ukraine Crisis Center, Tetyana Ogarkova, estimated that public opinion was “very positive” towards the postponement of the election.
“Everyone understands that Ukrainians are not here to vote, because many have gone abroad, others are in the trenches… Yes, elections will be necessary, but at the time when general circumstances allow,” explained the manager.

G7 HEADS OF DIPLOMACY MEETING
The G7 foreign ministers meet this Tuesday and Wednesday in Tokyo in a hot global context. Together they will try to find a common line in the Israel-Hamas conflict while reaffirming their support for Ukraine.
