Aaron Rodgers will be back in a few weeks

Aaron Rodgers will be back “in a few weeks.”

New York Jets fans can hope for the return of quarterback Aaron Rodgers before the end of the season.

This new hope emerged from the mouths of those most affected. On Monday, after his team’s 27-6 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, the 39-year-old pivot had a brief discussion with safety Derwin James.

The latter asked Rodgers when he wanted to return to the game. “Give me a few weeks,” replied the holder of four NFL MVP titles.

Remember, the veteran suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in his first appearance on the field during the first week of activities. This type of injury typically ends an athlete’s campaign.

Nine weeks later, Rodgers is moving around without crutches. He also threw several balls while leaning on his injured leg during warmups before the game against the Chargers.

The one who moved from the Green Bay Packers to the Jets last offseason has never hidden that he would like to return to the game before the end of the current season. Running back Cam Akers holds “the record” for fastest return to action after a torn Achilles tendon. He achieved the feat in five and a half months.

If Rodgers needs a similar amount of time, he will return around the Super Bowl. For that to happen, the Jets would have to have more success. So far in 2023, the Big Apple team has maintained a 4-4 record and sits in third place in the American Association East.
