Prohiben en Francia manifestaciones frente al Consejo Constitucional

In Argentina they are calling for the approval of projects against denialism

During an information session of the Chamber of Deputies, Taty Almeida, member of the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo-Línea Fundadora, called for the analysis by legislators of projects to punish and disqualify those who claim or try to hide the atrocities committed during the civil-military dictatorship last week in this country (1976-1983).

For his part, the member of Hijos Carlos Pisoni stressed the importance of education and training of civil servants, as well as the need to consider statements and actions of this type as a criminal offense.

For her part, Mabel Careaga, daughter of the detained and disappeared Esther Ballestrino, considered that legal initiatives to combat this phenomenon also make it possible to protect the victims of state terrorism and all Argentines.

Meanwhile, President of the Permanent Assembly for Human Rights Eduardo Tavani called for the defense of the “Memory, Truth and Justice” flag against hate speech to continue.

During his speech, the deputy of the Frente de Todos, Hugo Yasky, condemned the recent statements of the candidate for vice-president of La Libertad Avanza, Victoria Villarruel, whom he described as a denier who claimed genocide and despised democratic institutions.

In his profile on the social network X, Villarruel repeated his speech against the aforementioned organizations and tried to defame their struggle.

The recovered grandson, Guillermo Pérez, rejected these statements and expressed concern about the existence of candidates for the government of this nation who deny what happened during the regime that caused the disappearance of 30,000 people, including his parents.

I am very moved when I hear expressions that say that what happened in those years were just “excesses”. These are not excesses, but crimes against humanity and a systematic plan aimed at keeping the victims’ children in this genocidal dictatorship, he explained.

The legislators are analyzing, among other things, the amendment of Article 213 of the Penal Code to increase confrontation with these behaviors, the introduction of prison sentences of three months to two years, fines, dismissals and the exclusion from holding public office for ten years.

In addition, they are studying resources to prevent those who identify themselves as state terrorism from running for elected office and are discussing the creation of an Observatory on Democratic Coexistence, which will aim to develop academic measures against hate speech and violence.
