Daniel Bensimon, Israeli journalist and former Labor MP, takes stock of the situation between Israel and Hamas on Tuesday November 7th, a month after the start of the war.

A month after the Hamas attacks in Israel, “it is the whole family that is at war and the whole family is disappearing, and therefore it is a crisis that has no precedent,” assures Daniel Bensimon, Israeli journalist and former Labor member MP, guest at the 19/20 Info, Tuesday, November 7th. Israel initially responded with incessant bombing raids on the Gaza Strip. According to Daniel Bensimon, the United States “supports this war (…) to ensure that Israel does not give in.”

Benjamin Netanyahu is just “passing through”

Benjamin Netanyahu assured that there would be no ceasefire in Gaza without the release of the hostages. This line is supported by the Israelis. After the war, Israel will assume overall responsibility for the Gaza Strip indefinitely, the Israeli prime minister said. “I believe that the Israelis are not in favor of this occupation of Gaza, which has cost Israel five or six wars,” says Daniel Bensimon. For him, peace may still have a chance, but Benjamin Netanyahu is not the man of this peace. “He is in transit (…) and will not be able to stay after the war,” concludes the Israeli journalist.
