Nintendo of Japan’s announcement about the existence of The Legend of Zelda movie came like a bolt from the blue. The reveal, which took place via official social channels, also reveals very first details about the film.
The posts that appear to have been written by Shigeru Miyamoto personally revealed that it won’t be an animated film like Super Mario Bros.; Live action with real actors. He will be responsible for the production of the film Avi Arada well-known film producer of Israeli origin who has worked on various Marvel properties including Venom (2018), Spider-Man 3 (2007) and The Amazing Spider-Man 2: The Power of Electro (2014). Directed by Wes Ballknown as the director of Maze Runner.
The film is more than half financed by Nintendo, with the remaining part of the funding coming from Nintendo Sony Pictures Entertainmentwhich also takes over sales.
The posts also suggest that work on The Legend of Zelda film has just begun and that not much time has passed since the agreement with Avi Arad. It means that the waiting time will be very long and in all likelihood we will have to wait years before we can see the results of the collaboration on the big screen.
