The first two “Enola Holmes” were released in 2020 and 2022 and attracted numerous Netflix subscribers. The platform has therefore decided to start work on a third work. Be careful because this article contains spoilers for the second film!
Enola Holmes or when Sherlock’s little sister steals the show
Sherlock Holmes is one of the most depicted characters in the history of cinema and television. Instead of offering a new story about the famous detective, Netflix decided to take an interest in his sister by adapting the work of Nancy Springer. Enola Holmes was released in 2020 and also followed the adventures of Sherlock’s youngest daughter.

Enola Holmes met a huge success upon its release from Netflix. In the four weeks following its online release, the film was viewed by 76 million subscribers to the platform. This enthusiastic reception led to the release of a second film, presented in 2022. This once again well received. And just over a year after its release, we found outhe will be entitled to a sequel.
Netflix is working on the script for a third film
Scott Stubber, the director of Netflix Film, recently gave an interview to Collider. When asked about the future of Enola Holmes, he revealed that he would like to “make a new one.” And that, in this sense, Screenwriters are currently working on the script for this third film. Fans should therefore be treated to a trilogy all about Sherlock Holmes’ little sister.
Millie Bobby Brown is expected to return to the lead role in the third, Enola Holmes. On the other hand, it is still too early to get an idea of the rest of the casting, as Stubber has not provided any information on the subject. We therefore don’t know whether Louis Partridge will take on the role of Tewksbury or Henry Cavill will take on the role of Sherlock.
What story for this new work?
Given the ending of Enola Holmes 2, We can still assume that Tewksbury and Sherlock will indeed come back hereinafter. As a reminder, at the end of the second film, Enola opened her own detective agency. And Moriarty managed to escape the police. Sherlock could therefore try to find her. But we’ll have to wait to hear more details about his sister’s new adventure. Not the film no release date either currently.
