Fedora Workstation now includes GNOME 45.

This version offers new widgets for core apps, a brand new Image Viewer app and a more informative Activities button. You can also opt for another environment, KDE Plasma Desktop, Xfce, Cinnamon or even Fedora Onyx, an “atomic” desktop based on Budgie in the spirit of Fedora Silverblue. The default sliders have been redesigned.

Please note that the Qt Adwaita-qt and QGnomePlatform themes are no longer available in Fedora Workstation 39. Qt applications Now use the default upstream theme. In fact, many GNOME 45 applications now use the new UI widgets in libadwaita 1.4. They can be recognized by the two-tone design and the side bars that extend over the entire height of the window.

Fedora Linux 39 also includes gcc 13.2, binutils 2.40, glibc 2.38, gdb 13.2 and rpm 4.19. It also includes updates to programming language stacks such as Python 3.12 and Rust 1.73. Fedora Cloud images will officially be available for Microsoft Azure (in addition to Google Cloud and AWS). A nod to command line enthusiasts: Fedora Linux 39 now offers a colorful Bash prompt by default.
