“The investigation is ongoing, but the fieldwork ended yesterday,” confirmed Pierre-Olivier Lévesque, police spokesman.

The Flexigym Québec surveillance camera video in which we see Jessy Duchesneau walking around the corner of du Pont and du Prince-Édouard streets remains the last sign of life for the young man from Paspébiac.

According to the Midnight Blue bar where he spent the evening, he left around 1:30 a.m. He was then seen near the Saint-Joseph district at around 2:15 a.m. The Flexigym pictures were taken around 3:20am.

“Most of the cameras in the area have been checked and this is really the last one [endroit où il a été vu]. “Our research focused on a radius of 300 meters,” explains Mr. Lévesque.

The mystery remains

Remember that Jessy Duchesneau traveled to Quebec last weekend to party with classmates. He left his car in Rimouski to drive the rest of the way with his friends.

Although he was supposed to spend the night at one of them after the bar trip, the 19-year-old never returned. It wasn’t until the next day, around 4 p.m., that his friends contacted the authorities to report his disappearance, according to the missing man’s relatives.

The latter also points out that his mobile phone was located by the police at the Gare du Palais on Saturday morning at around 9:30 a.m., but that the SPVQ never validated this information.

Quebec police are asking anyone who saw this person to call 911 for immediate intervention.
