The creation of two states is no longer possible, says Palestine expert Check

Governments from different parts of the world and the UN itself insist that only the creation of two states can bring a political solution to the conflict. But for Bocco, this option is becoming increasingly distant.

“If we look at the map, where is the Palestinian state? There is no Palestinian state,” he laments.

Here are the most important excerpts from the interview:

Chad: Humanitarian organizations are in the headlines around the world. What does Gaza show us about them?

Bocco: The United Nations and humanitarian NGOs cannot make deliveries today because Israel is denying them entry. From the history of the trucks in line, we see that they have very limited access to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza. The UN could play a different role.

After October 7, Israel said it would destroy Hamas, invade Gaza and destroy the terrorists. They didn’t come in for three weeks. They have now begun to advance more decisively into the Gaza Strip. Why do they do that? What we know is that the bombing of Gaza has been very heavy, meaning they are trying to destroy civilian infrastructure. Of course they said they killed terrorists and Hamas officials. But their strategy, at the first level, is to cause chaos by terrorizing Palestinian civilians. And they combine this strategy with the decision not to allow humanitarian aid to enter the country.
