A man who was in his vehicle was attacked by gunfire in the Saint-Hubert sector early Thursday morning, in a new episode of armed violence in the Greater Montreal area.
The event occurred around 5:30 a.m. when the sun had not yet risen.
A 29-year-old man was attacked by at least two gun bullets in his van parked in the parking lot of the McDonald’s restaurant on Grande-Allée Boulevard near Highway 30.

The two bullets fired in his direction penetrated the driver’s door of the van.
Miraculously, the young man was uninjured, but still had to be treated for nervous shock.
According to the authorities, the victim is not known in police circles and has no previous convictions.

A large security perimeter was set up in the area to protect the crime scene.
The suspect(s) fled and still could not be found by morning.
Longueuil police investigators were dispatched to the scene to try to clarify the circumstances of the shooting and collect evidence.
McDonald’s surveillance cameras should also be monitored during the day.
