Nicki Minaj admits no one told her Percocets were addictive

On Thursday (November 9), Nicki Minaj sat down for an interview with Vogue where she discussed a variety of topics, including her upcoming album Pink Friday 2. She also talked about how she was once prescribed Percocet for menstrual cramps and that, fortunately, she she was able to “ground herself” before addiction took hold.

“Nobody told me it was a narcotic and that it was addictive,” she said. “Luckily I was able to recover myself. But – once addicted, always addicted. I feel like if you’ve ever experienced addiction, which is the case for me, you always have to think twice and thrice about the decisions you make.”

She added that many of today’s biggest celebrities are more prone to addiction because of the microscopy in their lives.

“Check out some of our biggest celebrities,” Nicki continued. “At some point they either get laughed at because they don’t want to go outside anymore, like Michael Jackson, or they get criticized, like Whitney Houston, or they fight silent battles, like Prince. These are some of the greatest of all time. And one day they decided, “You know what? I would rather treat myself and be in my own world.”

Nicki Minaj reveals her son’s name

Elsewhere in the Vogue interview, Nicki gave readers a hint about her son’s real name, who she has always called “Papa Bear.” During a video clip of the interview, Nicki was asked numerous questions about her son’s name.

“I don’t know,” she replied in the video below when asked why she nicknamed the two-year-old child “Papa Bear.” “I’ve always been a nickname person. I usually give these nicknames to everyone I love. He actually had a few nicknames. His first nickname when he was in my belly was ‘Bubba.'” When he came out, it just morphed into “Papa Bear.” I can’t explain it, but when I look at him, that’s what I thought.

Nicki Minaj then made a bizarre reference to her son’s name by sticking out her lips and rolling her eyes. Vogue wasn’t able to guess based on the clue alone.
