The heat that hit Rio this Thursday, with a maximum temperature of 37°C, made several fans of the band RBD queuing for the show at the Nilton Santos Stadium sick. They expressed solidarity with the situation and formed a task force of sorts with water bottles and umbrellas to provide some sort of assistance to those who felt uncomfortable in the queue.
The high temperatures in Rio are a result of a strong heat wave that is affecting the entire country. The thermal amplitude, the difference between the measured maximum and minimum temperatures, was 20 °C. At around 5 a.m. the temperature measured was 17 °C. At 3 p.m. the thermometer showed 37°
In addition to the intense heat, Rio is also affected by drought. The National Institute of Meteorology (INMET) has issued a low humidity warning in the Rio metropolitan area and other parts of the state. At 10 a.m. the relative humidity was 35%, close to the alarm limit of 20%.
