Negotiations for a ceasefire in the war in the Middle East

In the new war in the Middle East, there are negotiations for the release of around a dozen hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip, as well as a two to three day ceasefire. A source at the German Press Agency confirmed this on Thursday. It was said that the negotiations were taking place with the mediation of Qatar and in consultation with the US. This involves “the release of ten to 15 hostages in exchange for a humanitarian break of 48 to 72 hours in the fighting. Meanwhile, tens of thousands of people have fled from the north to the south of the Gaza Strip.”

Hollywood: Actors end strike

The Hollywood actors’ strike, which has lasted four months, is over. After 118 days, an agreement in principle was reached for the actors with major studios such as Disney and Netflix, which provides for higher salaries and better protection against the use of artificial intelligence. The agreement still needs to be ratified by union members.

Celebration of November programs

The November commemoration of Nazi programs 85 years ago began on Thursday with a wreath-laying ceremony by government leaders and the Federal President at the Name of the Shoah Wall in Vienna’s Ostarrichi Park. The violent attacks on Jews on the night of November 10, 1938 were remembered. Synagogues in Austria were set on fire, shops were looted and people were mistreated.
