The third live show from X Factor 2023 it is done in the name of revolution. The theme that connects all of the jurors’ tasks to their talents is “rebellious music“. In this episode we heard some “protest” songs that made history. Be it musically, politically or socially.

The tasks required courage from the judges. And in a way, you’re forcing the competing guys to “expose themselves,” to take a stand, by bringing a song that’s not just a personal flag, The strengths and weaknesses of many artists have come to light.

They were then guests in this live show Collapesce Dimartino who brought their new single Sex and Architecture live for the first time, featured on their latest album Lux Eterna Beach. Next week though Annalisa will be a guest at the X Factor Arena (Morgan will be happy about that, given his comments on his songs).

Sing, I’m a rebellious mother of Skiantos and in between he even throws a pillow in the face of his judge Fedez. His performance doesn’t just consist of singing. It begins with a spoken and almost acted part. And it ends with an energy explosion. «We all have the right to revolution and this song says it,” Morgan said. And Ambra, however, recalled two elements regarding the production of Skiantos: “Irony and provocation». Both are present at Maria Tomba’s performance.

Once again Gaetano fails to overcome the blockage of shyness. From the first live show we knew that it would unfortunately be difficult to see a full resolution. But the truth is that his very rigid approach does not let him down. Not even when you perform a piece as potentially free as Lady Gaga’s “Born this Way.” A shame. But unfortunately his elimination is correct.

With General by Francesco De Gregori, Angelica (Team Ambra) has managed to overcome last week’s impasse, when she was told that her singing was entirely internal and not external. Tonight Angelica simply made herself available for the song. It was a wonderful line. “That is the power of a song that manages to transport us all to this feeling of injustice that permeates the present,” said Dargen D’Amico, referring to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

One of the most interesting performers in this edition is Selmi sang Giorgio Gaber’s “Freedom”.. But it couldn’t do justice to the gravity and lightness of the song’s words. Ambra reminded that the documentary is currently showing in cinemas Me, us and Gaber by Riccardo Milani. Given the incredible audience participation (over 50,000 viewers over the three days of the program), the documentary’s theatrical stay was extended over the entire weekend. A nice way to rediscover Mr. G.’s genius.
