Windows 11 Abandoned Apps List
Microsoft is adding the Tips app to the list of deprecated features in Windows 11. Find the latest news on every new Windows 11 feature update here.
It has been officially deprecated since November 1, 2013. However, Microsoft says it will continue to receive content updates as long as Windows is preinstalled. Given this additional information, it is likely that the company will decide to remove it from the next major Windows 11 updates.
The list of software and features being abandoned by Microsoft continues to grow. In September, WordPad was deprecated in favor of Notepad, and a month earlier Cortana was deprecated in favor of Copilot. We have to prepare for more changes, as the giant has already announced that it will discontinue the mail and calendar applications next year. They are replaced by Outlook (web version).
We don’t have any information about the successor to Tips, but Windows 11 already has the built-in Get Help app. It could become the new destination to find out about the latest updates. Microsoft could also redirect users to online documentation.
