After drone attack: Israel attacked target in Syria

In response to a drone attack on a school building in the southern Israeli city of Eilat, the Israeli army said it had struck a target in Syria.

The army met with the organization that carried out the attack, the military said today on Twitter (X). The army considers Syria “fully responsible for any terrorist activity originating on its territory”.

Yesterday a school was damaged by a drone. The origin of the drone and the incident as a whole would be verified, it was initially said. There were no reports of injuries.

Arrow 3 defense system in use for the first time

Meanwhile, the Israeli military successfully used its new Arrow 3 missile defense system for the first time in another matter. An object fired at Israel was intercepted in the Red Sea area, the Israeli Ministry of Defense reported yesterday.

The Shiite Houthi rebels in Yemen had previously announced that they had attacked Israel with rockets. It was not clear whether the intercepted missile was a Houthi missile.

“The Arrow missile intercepted a threat traveling far from the state of Israel,” said military spokesman Daniel Hagari. “We intercepted a surface-to-surface missile that was fired in our direction.”

Together with “David’s Sling” and “Iron Dome”, “Arrow” forms Israel’s anti-aircraft defense system. The “Arrow” can destroy enemy missiles at an altitude of more than 100 kilometers and therefore outside the atmosphere in primitive space with a direct hit.
