BUDAPEST (Portal) – The EU should not start accession negotiations with Ukraine, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on state radio on Friday, stressing that this was Hungary’s “clear position” on the matter.
EU leaders have until mid-December to decide whether to accept the Commission’s recommendation to invite Kiev to start accession negotiations once the final conditions are met.
Such a decision requires unanimity among the bloc’s 27 members, with Hungary seen as the main obstacle.
