The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, met this Friday with the Hungarian Foreign and Foreign Trade Minister Péter Szijjártó to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

The meeting took place at the Miraflores Palace, the seat of government in Caracas (capital), as part of the Hungarian minister’s official visit to the South American country.
“The meeting, which is part of Bolivarian peace diplomacy, aims to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Budapest and Caracas,” said a presidential press statement.
Previously, Minister Szijjártó honored the liberator Simón Bolívar in the National Pantheon, “as a symbol of friendship and respect between our peoples,” emphasized Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil.
In addition, both foreign ministers met with their respective delegations, at which a memorandum of understanding in strategic areas was signed.
