Influencer Isabella Aglio took to Instagram Stories this Friday (10) to ask fans of her father Rinaldo Oliveira Amaral, Mingau of the band Ultraje a Rigor, for a contribution. The family launched a fundraising campaign to pay off hospital debts. The musician was shot in the head on September 2nd.

The musician’s daughter shared the fundraising campaign for Mingau on social media.

“We were surprised by a very high bill that, unfortunately, we could not pay… For this purpose, we created a vakinha to raise money for operations and other things that we now need in the rehabilitation process.” (e.g. one Wheelchair) I ask you to help as best you can! Thank you.”

The campaign profile revealed that the musician’s health improved after several surgical procedures. “After two months in intensive care, he is ready to go into rehabilitation. He has developed a lot during this time and there is still a lot to do so that he can get back to doing what he loves most: touching, performing… and being in contact with nature”.

“Now it is also time to settle the score with the team of neurologists who have been looking after him since the operation. Since the family members are unable to cover all the costs that are not covered by health insurance, we have opened a vakinha for everyone who can help build a happy ending for this story,” the statement said.

What happened to porridge?

Rinaldo Oliveira Amaral, known as Mingau, was shot in the head on September 2 in Paraty, Rio de Janeiro. The Ultraje A Rigor musician and a friend were driving through a traffic zone in the city, Praça do Ovo, on Ilha das Cobras, when their car was shot at.

Mingau’s friend told Rio de Janeiro civil police that the two were having a snack when criminals shot at the car. One suspect has been arrested and three others have been identified and are being sought. Authorities are still investigating the motive for the crime.

Porridge was hit on the left side of the head. The bullet went through the brain and came out again. According to doctors, the affected area is responsible for some motor, speech and visual functions.
