At the request of the Palestinians and Saudi Arabia, the Arab League will meet again on Saturday to discuss the war in Gaza. The meeting in Riyadh will focus on “Israeli aggression against Gaza,” the organization said in a statement. The 22 foreign ministers of the Arab League condemn “the Israeli occupation and its aggression against Gaza and demand that the country be held accountable for its crimes against the Palestinian people”.
At a meeting shortly after the start of the war, on October 7, in Cairo, the foreign ministers had already called for an immediate end to the Israeli attacks on Gaza. They warned of the “catastrophic” consequences for the humanitarian situation and security in the region if the conflict intensified. Saudi Arabia currently presides over the organization.
