A two-story commercial garage burst into flames early Saturday morning, forcing the deployment of nearly 65 firefighters in Quebec.
The Quebec Fire Protection Service (SPCIQ) was called to respond to a fire that broke out around 5 a.m. Saturday at 180 Rue De L’Espinay in the Vieux-Limoilou district.

Once on site, the alarm was raised quickly and one after the other until a large number of firefighters were called to respond for the fourth time.

The fire was finally brought under control around 8 a.m., SPCIQ spokesman Alexandre Lajoie said in a news release.

The neighboring residential building with five apartments was evacuated as a preventive measure. Smoke and heat were present in the building, but the fire did not spread.
“The damage to the garage is extensive. Only one of the residential units at 164, 172 Rue De L’Espinay cannot be restored due to damage caused by heat and smoke,” however, Mr. Lajoie clarified.

According to the SPCIQ, the fire caused no injuries or injuries.
An investigation will be initiated as soon as possible to determine the cause of this fire.
