Angy Fernández, Jorge González, the independent band Miss Caffeina and María Peláe are some artists who will compete in the Benidorm Fest 2024, according to the selection of 16 participants (2 less than last year) prepared by RTVE. Her goal is to replace Blanca Paloma, the winner of the last edition. Tickets go on sale on December 4th, 11th and 18th via the official Benidorm Fest online shop.
According to RTVE, the competition has once again broken a new record: 825 proposals were received via the web form, compared to 455 sent via the same route last year. What RTVE has been announcing for months is the desire for Benidorm Fest to “attract a more diverse audience” that goes beyond the LGTBI+ community. Those responsible are striving to make the broadcast, like the successful Grand Prix, entertainment content for grandparents and children. Beyond the Eurovision Song Contest, it should be a showcase of current Spanish music, defended the public broadcaster at its presentation this summer in the city of Alicante.
