Tonight Italy, Feltri defends Israel: accusations against common sense

Entirely in the spirit of defending Israel. Vittorio Feltri, editorial director of Il Giornale, is a guest on the November 11th episode of Stasera Italia Weekend, Rete4’s evening talk show hosted by Augusto Minzolini, and speaks without much doubt about the criticism of the Jewish state after the outbreak of the Terrorism War with Hamas in the Gaza Strip: “What worries me most is the fact that Israel suffered a sudden terrorist attack that claimed countless victims.” What could Israel have done but responded with the same force? Blaming Israel and saying nothing about Hamas, or at least justifying Hamas, is an injustice that also violates common sense. What will happen now to other Arab or Islamic countries will not be of much use because we know what the Islamic mentality is like. That’s why I fear that everyone wants to harm Israel, also because there is a creeping anti-Semitism that has never stopped being active for centuries. This worries me, annoys me, also because I am an honorary Jew and, in recognition of my work, I received a tree in the Garden of the Righteous in Jerusalem, so – Feltri assures me – I am on Israel’s side.”
