Man Arrested in Florida for Keeping Five Young Alligators in a Bathtub

A man from Saint Cloud, Osceola County, Florida, was arrested after he was found to have five young alligators in a bathtub at his home.

Robert Robinson was charged with personal possession of wildlife without a permit, local media reported.

The man was caught by Florida Department of Fish and Wildlife agents based on an anonymous tip and revealed that he had caught the alligators in a pond near his home.

The alligators were released into Lake Tohopekaliga.

Florida authorities filed charges against it in October a man who had an alligator in an aquarium in his garage.

Florida Department of Fish and Wildlife agents searched an Orlando home in early October after a 28-year-old named Christopher Abelard discovered a 6-foot-long alligator in a 35-gallon aquarium in his father’s garage.

The young man said the alligator belonged to his father, Jean Abelard, 50.

The defendant said he picked the alligator off the road while at work on Sept. 23 and took it home because he didn’t want anyone to run over it. He argued that he was afraid they would take him home and eat him.

In September, police officers in Pinellas County discovered the body of a person in the mouth of a four-meter-long alligator that was swimming in a lake.

The more than 13-foot alligator was found near 134th Avenue North and 121st Street in Pinellas County.

The 41-year-old woman was homeless. “It is believed he walked to or from his camp near the stream in the dark and attacked the crocodile from the water.” said her daughter.
